A google search will find many of the service manuals, but you have to wade through a lot of garbage to find them. This site offers a good many of them for free:

http://soft-manufaktura.ru/servman.html

If its a PDF, it should be safe to open. I would be wary of any that require you to run a program as an executable as it could be a virus or trojan. Unzipping should be fine, but running executables is risky as you don't know if the program is safe or not.

Cleaning solution: the ultimate test

Many forum members have enjoyed my formula to condition the sponge of Canon cartridges.

The formula is as follows:

-3 ml propylene glycol (or 2 % glycerol)
-20 ml isopropylalcohol
-distilled water up to 100 ml

The cleaning solution to free up clogged printheads is by adding 20-25 drops of concentrated ammonia to each 100 ml of cleaning solution.

Today I suffered from a tenacious clog in my Epson Pro 3800 in the magenta and cyan channel, caused probably by long term of non-usage and the...

Hi
I've had a Brother MFC8460N for a few years and am now getting an issue where one side of the page is hardly printing (see attached file).
I have changed the drum and the toner but it makes no difference.
Any advice to resolve this or is the printer dead

Is it on the bottom left there that I puncture the cartridge with my ink filled syringe?

XP900 Print on transparent foil

Hi, I tried to print on transparent Xerox inkjet foil with Epson XP900, but black area is with "random lines", non consistency color (attachment). I need it as UV mask. Printer is relatively new, with original (demo) cartriges. I tried to print with different configuration and different type of papers. I saw differencies, but it was still not usseable. Printing on paper and photopaper is ok, with no "lines". Nozzle check is also ok.

I had Canon IP7250, prints on foil was much better, black...

Best pigment ink based A3 printer?

Hi, you're friend Omar here. As I've mentioned in other post I've a Small Stickers Business.

I would like your recomendation on a pigment ink based A3 printer. I've a budget of $600.

I live in Perú, South America. The printer doesn't need to be the latest model. Just one that can get the job done.

As I understand, there are 2 (only?) types of printers ink jet or ecosolvent.

And inside Ink Jet printers, there are printers that use dye ink and the ones that use pigment based...

Testing several brands of Gloss Optimizers for Epson

I did already quite some testing with gloss optimizers - with a R800 printer some time ago, and with a P400 printer, the main focus was on inks and papers - which combination gives the best look - in regards to bronzing , gloss differentials between inks and inks and paper and the effects of a GO overprint on dye inks. I'm doing complete overprints with GO on printouts as a separate print job, this creates a uniform coverage of all areas - printed or unprinted alike.
I did several postings...

Mod on Sudhaus Redsetter to use AA batteries

I just did a simple mod on my Sudhaus Redsetter($20 on Ebay) so that it can use AA Alkaline batteries in place of the Mitsubishi CR2032 3V "coin" battery that it uses from the factory.I planned on getting a Radio Shack AA battery holder(2 AA = 3V),but I just cheaped out and made a simple holder from a small piece of PVC pipe,a small spring and some wire for leads to 2 alligator clips. The typical AA holders are cheap and easily available,so it's probably best to go that route.

I took 2...

Odd Chip on cartridge

I was wandering if anyone had ever come across this chip before

it is an im340b this is in a franking machine cartridge, and is a rotated version of something else, just to make it hard to work with, these cartridges are in excess of £130 if bought from the supplier, and whats worse is that they have a strict life cycle, they will last exactly 12 months from date of insert, also if you do not insert them by the date on the cartridge, then they also cant be used.

I can program pretty much...

Current inkjet printers resolution?

I haven't been following the inkjet market recently because my old Pixma MP540 is still going strong for my needs, but a friend asked me to look at some models for him.

Does anyone know why printer resolution dropped in recent years? 🤔
I mean my Pixma is at least 4800x2400 dpi for printing and the same for scanning so I wanted to know, why currently everything seems to fall around 2400x1200 dpi and the scanners only 600x1200 dpi?

I suppose 1200 dpi could be enough for amateur photo...

Inkjet colors fade because of drying?

I did the same inkjet internet art print on the same 20lbs multiuse paper about 2 days apart, and noticed that the 2 day old print's colors look a little less vibrant than the new print. I also put the 2 day old print on the wall in a somewhat dim room. Is the reason why the old print's colors look lighter / less dark is because the new print is still 'wet' somewhat, and it will take a while for it to fully dry, or do the Epson 512 inks in my ET-7750 fade that fast?

I have 2 printers:
- Epson Pro 3880, which is causing all kinds of problems, like the Pro 3800 which I had before.
Photo printing was excellent, but using this type of printer was a constant "pain"!
Due to all kinds of small and sometimes serious problems.
Relability was totally insufficient.

- Canon MX 925 reliable but is also getting old.
Not really for photo printing

I am thinking about replacing both printers with just a new one with ink tanks.
A good quality printer...

Hi,

I'm looking for your expert knowledgeable advice regarding my best options for a basic multifunction home printer.

Probably not the most engaging of questions to ask, as I'm not looking for anything fancy, just the sort of machine the average person might use for general household use, but it must be a question vast number of consumers frequently ask themselves.

I don't do any serious photo printing mainly documents with some colour. I would miss not being able to print and scan in...

Best printer for reliability?

Hello, unlike most other folks who primarily use their injet printer for photo printing, I exclusively use my printer for printing documents. This means I only use my black inkcartrdige in my Pixma mx532, and very much neglect the color cartridge.

Overall my printer(canon mx532) is pretty bad. It jams quite frequently.

I am wondering if there exists a reliable printer that doesn't jam and is refiller friendly(i,e it's easy to refill). My previous printers have been cheap Canon printers...

Best Adhesive Photo Paper

Given you tried various brands could you suggest me the best non RC photo paper with an adhesive capability?

I tried the Labelheaven one it's not bad but I would like to know if something better exists.

I would like to use it by attaching it to another side of a matte photo paper in order to achieve custom weight glossy/matte finish, this before printing. Then i will print on this newly created paper duo.

As size I need A3 or maybe also A4 but A3 would be far better.
